Meet Results
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Taejah Robertson and
Tyrika Lee both sprinted to victories over the weekend in their respective events as the Norfolk State women's track and field team opened its outdoor season at the Tribe Invitational hosted by the College of William & Mary.
Robertson won the 100-meter dash in a time of 12.53 seconds, while Lee led a 1-2-3 finish for the Spartan women in the 200-meter dash. Lee's winning time was 24.86 seconds, with Robertson (25.45) in second and
Janay Fields (25.52) in third.
The Spartans' other victory on the track came via the 4x400 meter relay team.
Jada Key,
Nickheila John,
Martha Bissah and
Chazmin Fullwood posted a winning time of 3 minutes, 56.71 seconds, more than five seconds ahead of runner-up Richmond.
Bissah also made a strong showing in the mile, taking a close second (4:49.93) behind William & Mary's Regan Rome (4:49.71).
In field events, Daiysa Burrell was the highest Division I finisher in the discus throw with a top effort of 123 feet, 11 inches.
NSU is back in action this weekend at the Fred Hardy Invitational hosted by the University of Richmond.
