NSU Bowling Returns to Rankings at No. 21

February NTCA Poll

NORFOLK
, Va. – The Norfolk State bowling team jumped back into the top 25 national rankings recently with the release of the February National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) poll. The Spartans find themselves 21st in the latest edition.

NSU was ranked No. 23 in the preseason poll but fell out of the top 25 in the December poll. After a strong showing against top competition in January, the Spartans secured 166 points in the February poll to give the MEAC four teams in the rankings.

The Spartans finished four points ahead of Maryville but nine points behind Wisconsin Whitewater. NSU was one of three teams to enter the poll this time around.

Nebraska held on to the No. 1 spot in the latest poll, with McKendree and Arkansas State maintaining their spots at second and third, respectively. Along with NSU, fellow MEAC schools Delaware State (No. 6), Maryland Eastern Shore (No. 8) and North Carolina A&T (No. 17) were also ranked.

The Spartans continue their season this weekend at the James Brown Invitational hosted by Morgan State.
