NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State Department of Athletics formally inducted 18 student-athletes last week into the University's Eta Chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma, the National College Athlete Honor Society.
The honor is bestowed upon selected junior and senior student-athletes based on outstanding academic performance, character, citizenship and athletics ability. Members must maintain a GPA of 3.4 or higher. NSU serves as the Virginia Eta Chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma.
The class, one of the largest since NSU's inaugural class in 2012, included five women's track and field athletes and three baseball players. Other sports represented included men's track and field, women's tennis and men's tennis with two each, and women's basketball, football, volleyball and softball with one each.

About Chi Alpha Sigma
Chi Alpha Sigma was founded in 1996 on the campus of DePauw University by Nock Mourouzis. His goal was to provide outstanding student-athletes with an opportunity to become connected within a fraternal association that aligns their education and athletics success for a lifetime.
