Koech Selected MEAC Cross Country Athlete of the Week

NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State junior Fridah Koech was named the MEAC Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday.

Koech opened up her 2021 cross country season by placing sixth at the George Mason Invitational last weekend. She completed the 5,000-meter course in 20 minutes, 3.2 seconds.

This is the first weekly MEAC cross country honor in the career of the 2019 All-MEAC runner.

The Spartans are back in action this Friday at the Virginia Invitational in Earlysville.
