Record 109 Norfolk State Student-Athletes Land on MEAC Commissioner’s All-Academic Team

| By:
NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State Athletics concluded another exceptional 2022-23 academic year by placing a record 106 student-athletes on the MEAC Commissioner's All-Academic Team.

The mark tops the school's previous record of 101, from the 2020-21 academic year. The Spartans have now placed 100 or more student-athletes on the team for the third time in school history, cracking triple digits for the first time in 2017-18.

The MEAC Commissioner's All-Academic Team honors student-athletes, including sophomores to seniors, with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better.

"I want to congratulate the 939 student-athletes who have been named to the MEAC Commissioner's All-Academic Team," MEAC Commissioner Sonja Stills said. "To have nearly a thousand student-athletes among our eight member institutions maintaining a 3.0 GPA is as impressive and noteworthy as every athletic accomplishment."
