FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. | Norfolk State University defensive back Joseph White was selected on Monday the HBCU National Player of the Week by BOXTOROW.
 
White, a graduate student from Virginia Beach, Va. recorded five tackles (3 solo), three pass breakups and an interception in the Spartans' 31-23 victory over Hampton in Battle of the Bay. On Hampton's last two potential game-tying drives, White broke up a pass and on the last drive intercepted a pass to seal the win for the Spartans.
 
Norfolk State returns to action on Saturday with its second consecutive road game as the Spartans visit Temple. Kickoff against the Owls is set for 2 p.m. and the game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
