NEW CASTLE, Del. - The Norfolk State bowling team competes in the Northeast Classic, hosted by Sacred Heart University, from Jan. 18-20 at Bowlerama for the first competition of the new year.
The Northeast Classic's first day of competition begins on Friday at 10 a.m. with five five-game baker matches. On Saturday beginning at 9:25 a.m., competition will feature five traditional matches.
Lastly on Sunday at 8:25 a.m., competition will feature three best 4-of-7 baker matches.
The Northeast Classic consists of a 38-team field with top 24 ranked teams in the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA), as the Spartans are set to compete in the biggest tournament this season.
Coming off a three month break since their last competition in November at the Lady Eagles Invitational, the Spartans face opponents from nine different conferences.
Notable opponents include MEAC foes North Carolina A&T, Maryland Eastern Shore, Delaware State, Howard, Morgan State, and the Univ. of Alabama at Birmingham.
