Norfolk State Travels to Louisiana for Weekend Tennis Slate

NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State men's tennis team heads south this weekend, joining the women's squad for a four-match road trip through Louisiana and Mississippi.

The Spartans enter the weekend with a 1-1 record and momentum following a decisive 6-1 victory over Hampton on Feb. 18. Norfolk State swept all three doubles flights and went 5-1 in singles play.

Norfolk State will face four opponents over the trip: Xavier University of Louisiana, Southern Miss, Louisiana (Lafayette), and New Orleans. All four contests mark the first meetings between the programs.

The Spartans look to senior leadership from Boris Lunin and Dominik Simunovic while integrating a young lineup featuring seven freshmen — five of whom have earned starting roles.

Marcin Andrzejczak leads the lineup at No. 1 singles, followed by Patryk Kowal at No. 2. Szymon Malecki and Szymon Janzen occupy the No. 3 and No. 4 positions, respectively, while Marcin Dójczynski plays at No. 5 and Simunovic rounds out the lineup at No. 6.
