NORFOLK, Va. — Norfolk State sophomore Jennifer Chichester (Silver Spring, Md.) was named the MEAC Cross Country Athlete of the Week, the league announced Wednesday.

Chichester finished with a third place time of 22:56 at the Virginia Wesleyan Marlin Invitational and was one of four runners to finish the race in less than 23 minutes. Her time helped the Spartans to a third place finish out of 12 teams on the 6K course.

Chichester and the Spartans travel to Cockeysville, Md. on Friday to run at the Towson Invitational. The meet begins at 4 p.m.
