Final Results
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Norfolk State women's cross country team earned a third-place finish on Saturday at the Colonial Inter-Regional Challenge hosted by William & Mary.
William & Mary won the team title with 27 points, followed Hampton with 49 and NSU with 85.
Sophomore Kellen Rutto (Eldoret, Kenya) paced the Spartans with a 12th-place finish on the 4K (2.49-mile) course. She ran a time of 15 minutes, 11 seconds.
Junior Jamia Hutto (Orlando, Fla.) was second among NSU runners in 16:35. She placed 29th. Fellow junior Syeeda Gee (Philadelphia, Pa.) was next in a tie for 35th (17:05), followed by Lillian Morales-Gonzalez (San Antonio, Texas) in 37th (17:13) and senior Jennifer Chichester (Silver Spring, Md.) in 38th (17:22).
The Spartans return to action next Saturday at the Great American Cross Country Challenge in Cary, N.C.
