17 meetings between the two teams, including a 64-62 victory at NSU last February. In the last meeting

COPPIN STATE TIP-INS
Some additional notes from NSU's win over Coppin State on Monday:
• Kyle O'Quinn registered his ninth double-double of the season and third in his last four games with
a career-high 37 points and a career-high tying 19 rebounds.
• O'Quinn's 37 points are eight more than were scored by the UMES women's team in its 47-29 loss
to Hampton. O'Quinn's 19 rebounds were two more than the Delaware State men's team tallied in
its loss to Howard.
• Chris McEachin tied his college high from his sophomore year at Radford by scoring 19 points, and
freshman Pendarvis Williams notched a new career high with 17 points.
• NSU's 110 points scored are its most since a 102-86 win over UMES on Feb. 12, 2000.
• The 218 combined points are the most in an NSU game since the Spartans beat Shaw 134-90 (224
points) during the 1986-87 season.
• The Spartans' win broke their five-game overtime losing streak, dating to the 78-77 win at Bethune-
Cookman on Feb. 9, 2008.

INSIDE THE STREAK
The Spartans have won five straight games, the most since the 2008-09 team did so twice en route to the MEAC Basketball Tournament championship round. No NSU team has won more than five in the Division I era (since 1997-98), though this is the fifth streak to reach exactly five games since 1997.
The last six-game winning streak posted by a Spartan team came in the 1995-96 season. That Spartans' team did it twice, including a season-ending streak en route to the school's last CIAA Tournament championship.
The Spartans have been solid on offense and defense during their current streak. NSU is averaging 81.4 points per game during the run, shooting 48 percent from the fl oor and 45.5 from long distance. Defensively, NSU is allowing 73.4 points, infl ated somewhat by the 108 allowed Monday in
the 2-OT win over Coppin. Opponents are shooting just 40 percent from the fl oor during the streak.
O'QUINN AMONG NATIONAL LEADERS
Junior center Kyle O'Quinn reached double figures in rebounds in four of his last five games and now ranks 17th in the nation this year in that department. He has been ranked as high as seventh in the nation this year. His 10.2 average also ranks second in the MEAC behind the 11.0 average of N.C. A&T's Thomas Coleman.
O'Quinn also ranks 11th nationally with 3.1 blocks per game, good for third in the conference. His eight double-doubles are tied for second-most in the MEAC.
BLOCK PARTY
Lost in his offensive exploits on Jan. 24 vs. SCSU, O'Quinn also blocked three shots, surpassing his own single-season Division I school record of 51 that he set last year. O'Quinn now has 62 rejections, two shy of breaking Steve Gilbert's all-time school record of 63 set in the 1992-93 season.
