WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Norfolk State's No. 1 doubles tandem nearly pulled the upset, but in the end the No. 19 Wake Forest men's tennis team swept every match from the Spartans in a 7-0 victory on Saturday evening.

Pascal Domnik and freshman
Antonio Pejic nearly came away with the victory at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex. Their matchup at No. 1 doubles went into a tiebreaker, but the Demon Deacon duo of Sam Bloom and Anthony Delcore won 5-4 after a 7-4 tiebreaker victory.

In the end, NSU fell to 1-8 overall, while Wake Forest improved to 8-2.

Fatehdeep Singh dropped a 6-2 contest at No. 2 doubles to Romain Bogaerts and Keivon Tabrizi. At the third spot, seniors
Igor Braga and
Shaheed Mourillon-Swift succumbed to Maksim Kan and Matt Erdman by a 6-3 margin.

Grauel also played the closest match for NSU in singles. He eventually fell by a 6-3, 7-5 score at No. 5 singles to Nicholas Osterling. Pejic lost by a 6-2, 6-4 margin to Christian Seraphim at No. 3 singles, and Kan defeated Domnik via scores of 6-0, 6-4 at the top spot in the lineup.

In the other three singles matches, Braga dropped a 6-1, 6-2 decision to No. 57 Jon Ho at the No. 2 slot, while both Singh and Mourillon-Swift both fell by the same 6-0, 6-1 score. Bloom defeated Singh at No. 4 singles, and Delcore handed Mourillon-Swift the setback at the sixth spot.

NSU will next take on Hampton on Tuesday at 8:45 p.m. at the Centre Court Racquet Club in a matchup that was postponed twice this week due to weather.
