NORFOLK, Va. - Former Norfolk State defensive lineman
George Riddick has been invited to attend the Green Bay Packers rookie camp this week in hopes of signing on with the team as a free agent.
Riddick had a stellar senior season for the Spartans last fall. The Suffolk native was a first-team All-MEAC selection after recording 70 tackles, 13 tackles for loss and eight sacks, helping the Spartans finish second in the nation in total defense. Riddick tied for third in the MEAC in both sacks and fumble recoveries (three).
Riddick is the third member of the 2014 NSU football squad who will be in camp with an NFL team this weekend. Linebacker
Lynden Trail signed a free agent contract with the Houston Texans and defensive back
Keenan Lambert did likewise with the Seattle Seahawks.
