NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State athletic department has concluded another spectacular spring semester, landing 131 student-athletes on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll.
 
To be eligible for the NSU AD Honor Roll, student-athletes must have a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better for the semester.
 
Five student-athletes boasted perfect 4.0 GPAs for the spring: Kayla Barnes (Women's Bowling), LaShauna Burrus (Women's Bowling), Sage Beuchert-Irvine (Football), Malcolm Britt (Football), and Jayden Homuth (Football).
 
The Norfolk State football team led all Spartan programs with 37 honor roll members, while softball (18) and men's track (16) followed behind. The baseball (14), women's track (11), and women's basketball (10) squads also reached double-digits, while volleyball (7), men's basketball (5), women's tennis (5), bowling (4), and men's tennis (4) rounded out the list.
 
Norfolk State reported a cumulative GPA of 3.09 across all student-athletes in the department, a testament to the group's hard work, dedication, and commitment to academic success.
